Wrong Number, a story collection by Thakar and journalist Manoj Varshney and his wife Meenu Gupta, strikes at the discrepancies. Two of the 11 stories in this collection are from Meenu.

In this collection, in the stories Surrogate Husband, Social Bhedia, Sevadar, Sheetal Bayar, Pilgrimage, etc., the plot and craft of each one is smooth and flat, which keeps the reader hooked from beginning to end and maintains curiosity in them. The stories force the readers to think by attacking the various anomalies of the society. Dr. Yash Goyal Wrong Number has deep and intimate dialogues between the characters.

In the title story, the second girl among the seven siblings of a normal family, her brother and she herself kept trying for marriage. And all his efforts proved to be wrong numbers. His brother gave a promise to his father and Manoj has written in 'Meri Baat' that the characters of the stories, events are part of his life.

In almost all the stories, there is a narrative and scenario of middle class and joint family which hurts somewhere and gives happiness somewhere. The struggle of this class generation is inspiring which reflects the mindset of the middle class.
